President Trump Extends National Energy Emergency Declaration

He stated, “The circumstances related to this emergency continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.”

President Donald Trump extended the national energy emergency declaration that was set to expire Tuesday. A year ago, on the day of his inauguration to his second term, President Trump signed the executive order declaring a national energy emergency under the National Emergencies Act.

The president stated the emergency declaration was made “to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States constituted by the United States’ insufficient energy and critical minerals (energy) production, transportation, refining, and generation.”

President Trump said the nation “continues to need a reliable, diversified, and affordable supply of energy to drive our Nation’s manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and defense industries, and to sustain the basics of modern life and military preparedness.” He added, “The circumstances related to this emergency continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for President Trump as he evaluates the energy needs of the nation.
  • For Secretary Wright to be led by God as he manages the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • For the president and his Cabinet officials as they work to strengthen the nation’s national security and economy.
